The intelligence in the universe

Sometimes people are saying that maybe we are alone in the universe. So the universe is "made for us", and in that case, we should say that we are the luckiest thing, what can be imagined. And I don't believe that we are so lucky. Even if the forming of intelligent life on Earth is purely coincidence, that means that we maybe are not alone in the universe.

There are trillions of galaxies in the universe, and maybe somewhere is the thing, what we might call "Earth II". And the thing what makes this thing interesting. If "Earth II" is 3000 light-years away from Earth, we are seeing things, that happened 3000 years ago on that planet.

And this thing means that the hypothetical civilization has time to advance while the signal travels from that distant world to us. So if we can capture the first radio transmission, what that hypothetical alien is sending, we should think that there is a very much advantage happened while signal has reached our planet. But then we might think that there are two kinds of intelligence in the universe.

The first thing is intelligence which can affect its environment. And the intelligence that can not affect its environment. Intelligence doesn't necessarily mean technically advantages. Intelligence needs motivation for making technical advantage and invention. Without motivation, intelligence may "just be", which means that it would not create technical equipment.

This kind of species could be the planets, which are covered by neurons. Those neurons would not have the need or they would not the ability to create technical equipment. The race between species is the thing that is giving the species motivation for making technological inventions. The single- or mono-species has the problem, that it would not need technical equipment, because there is no race between it and other species.

Lack of stimulus causes that even the largest group of neurons just exists. If those neurons are alone on their planet, they would not make spacecraft or some other things. That kind of intelligence can be called apathetic. Intelligence can be different than we even think about. And intelligence is always dangerous because it learns things, and that is the thing, that we must keep in mind.

Hypothetical intelligent vegetables can be dangerous

 

Of course, if we are thinking of the "little green men" there is the possibility that the alien species would have chlorophyll molecules on their skins. That kind of molecule makes their skin produce sugars and vitamins in their bodies.

Sometimes I wonder why mammals have not the ability to benefit photosynthesis, because we need vitamins. And the ability to produce vitamin C in the skin would make the species independent from the fresh vegetables. Our skin produces vitamin D, but why it would not produce also vitamin C, which is also a very important vitamin? The green color would also protect wood-living apes against predators like it protects species like lizards and snakes. So why the skin of any mammals is not green?

There is the possibility that the intelligent species would look like a tree. In that hypothesis, the vegetable is feeding the neuron, and that thing makes the intelligent species, what stays in place. The "brain tree" would not move, but it can use other species as robots, that are following its will.

The intelligent tree might send the neurons to air, and then those neurons would give the stimulation to the neural system of other species. That thing can happen through the olfactory nerve and the neuron can communicate with the main neuron group by using feromones. Or the intelligent vegetable can straight send the neurotransmitters through the air.

Why human race is intelligent? The answer is that the human race needs its technology first for surviving. Houses, weapons, and clothes are things, that are making humans the most powerful species on our planet. And another thing that forced humans to create technical advantages was the lack of claws and jaws. Only things like spears and bows with arrows made it possible that humans survived.

But the conditions of the planet must change the way, that the big brains and ability to create abstraction and turn it into the concrete product would be a better way to act than some Carpé Diem or take the moment type acting. The ability to think abstractly made it possible that humans can plan things, what they were going to do. And that thing along with weapons and other things like tools and making fire were made the begin of the road, what turned humans to the lords of the planet Earth.
