The gamma-ray bursts are the key to create gamma-ray lasers


 

On Earth is very difficult to see the GRB (Gamma-Ray Burst) itself from Earth. The GRB is seen when the highly energetic gamma-ray hits the atmosphere and sends electrons and protons around it, and those highly energetic particles are sending the X-rays when they are traveling in the atmosphere. So from Earth researchers are seeing Gamma-Ray bursts through the X-ray emission, which is visible from the ground. normally GRB is seen from satellites.

Can the conditions, that are causing GRB to create on Earth by using LHC Large Hadron Collider) what shoots protons or electrons to extremely high energetic plasma? And can that technology use in gamma-ray lasers?

The origin of the gamma-ray bursts is an interesting thing. If researchers know the phenomenon, what is forming the gamma-ray bursts, they can copy those conditions in the laboratory on Earth. In normal theories about the origin of the gamma-ray bursts (GRB) is that they are forming when the star is collapsing or the black holes are colliding.

That thing causes that the high-energetic particles like protons would hit the plasma around that thing. And when the high-energetic particles are hitting with extremely hot plasma, that thing is sending the gamma-ray burst to the universe. So how to model those conditions on Earth? There is the possibility that the researchers are forming a high energetic plasma in the particle accelerator, and then the particles will shoot to that plasma by using extremely high energy levels. 




Similar conditions can form on Earth by using powerful particle accelerators. In the tube of accelerators like LHC (Large Hadron Collider) will create high energy plasma and then protons are shoot there with extremely high power.

The plasma can be made by using lasers or microwaves. When the high-energy particle beam will hit to that plasma, that will send the synthetic GRBs forward. The gamma-ray laser is a similar system to other lasers. The gamma-ray will travel in the tube, and then the other gamma rays will target that gamma-ray beam.

If the frequency of those gamma rays that are coming from sideways would be the same as the center ray, what is collecting other rays, those rays will pump energy to that ray. The gamma-ray lasers are extremely powerful tools, but creating gamma-rays for that system is quite difficult. The reason for that is the gamma-rays require an extremely powerful energy source.

The forming of those highly energetic rays is easy by using antimatter as the energy source. The flashes of annihilation reaction are extremely bright. But the problem is that antimatter is very hard to handle. So if there is some other way to create similar energy levels than annihilation that makes it easier to create the most powerful laser, what can be imagined.
