The new engine concept is named "Oblique Detonation Wave Engine" (ODWE) or "Shcramjet". It bases similar technology with Scramjet, but the idea is to benefit shockwaves of the engine for creating the concept, which allows the aircraft to fly over Mach 17. The system is similar to scramjet, but the mixture of fuel and air would inject into the system in the front of the engine. The biggest difference is the place, where the fuel is injected, and you might see that place in figure II.

The second difference is the shape of the engine. The shape of this hypersonic beast is like an "angular ramjet". The ODWE allows the system to fly at least Mach 17. The fact is that there is the possibility that somewhere are even more powerful engines, like "ion ODWEs. In those engines, the air will ionize at the front of the engine, and then the magnetic track will pull them through the tube. The problem with ODWE is that the rack of the fuel injection nozzle would target very powerful forces.

The fuel can theoretically inject into the engine as the spray, that comes straight from the body of the aircraft. So the fuel and air can be mixed outside the engine and spray in it. The injection nozzle will spray the fuel to the front of the engine, and then it will make the mixture with air. So the place of the injection nozzle is not so accurate.
This kind of engine can have a flap at the front of it and when the flight altitude will rise high enough, the system might close the flap, and start the internal oxygen injection from the oxygen tanks. If the rocket ODWE is made in real life this kind of hypersonic aircraft can rise from the airbase like rocket aircraft, accelerate to the speed, when the ODWE can start. And then it can fly high atmospheric or even orbital trajectory.

Epilogue
In Image, III is EA-6 Prowler electronic warfare platform. The high-power jamming systems are getting their electricity from the windmill turbo generators. Sometimes is asked, what if a similar system would install in super-fast aircraft?
DARPA has reported that its super-fast HTV-2 test unit hit Mach 20 before it hit the ocean. That thing means that there might be something, that is not wanted to tell about people about hypersonic systems. The hypersonic systems are capable of missiles, bombers, and recon- and intelligence platforms.
Those systems can equip with windmill turbogenerators, which are giving electricity for the DEW (Directed Energy Weapons) like a laser- and radio (EMP), or microwave applications. The high-speed system would help to keep the temperature of those weapons low, and the windmill system would give an extremely powerful energy load to the systems.
