What makes quantum gravity research important? For modeling systems or effects, we must get observations of that thing. Without observations, every model in the world is pure theory. And the synonyms for theory are the words "I feel". Without models creating the system is difficult or impossible.
Understanding and connecting quantum spaces with Einstein's or other theories is very important in quantum computing. In the quantum world, the interactions are similar with atoms and molecules, but interacting particles are much much smaller. They are probably smaller than quarks, and that means that there are forces, that seem meanless, but what can be a key element in the quantum systems. One of the things, that has no meaning in our size of the world is micro- or quantum gravity.
And why the quantum gravity has something to do with us? All material in Universe is forming of the same particles. Quarks are the things, that are forming protons and neutrons. So the entirety of those particles causes the gravity effect in the universe.
Maybe one quark has no mean, but when those things are forming entirety they have mean. Sometimes researchers are thought a possibility, that could there be subatomic particles similar to the Higgs boson that would not have gravitational interaction at all. If that particle is found, that means gravity is the wave movement. And maybe that thing would prove the existence of the graviton, the hypothetical transporter particle of gravity.
There have no observations about the internal gravity effect of the quantum systems and especially the thick quantum system. Microgravity affects the trajectories of the subatomic particles, and that means it has an effect on quantum systems like qubits. If we are understanding things like micro and quantum gravity better, we might make new materials and new entireties.
In Aalto-University has begun the new research, where two extremely small gold balls are on the layer at temperature, which is extremely close to the absolute zero points. The golden balls are extremely close to each other, and the idea is to measure the oscillation of those balls.
In that kind of experiment, the most important thing is just to remove other oscillations. When that thing has been done, the researchers can start to observe the quantum oscillation. The quantum oscillation between the balls that are made by gold is opening a new path to quantum data transfer and many other things.
And maybe that research open also the road to creating the superposition between the atom groups, which allows creating more effective and less sensitive quantum computers, which can operate also at the higher temperature, and maybe that is the way to large-scale quantum teleportation. That thing makes it possible to transfer information safely and long distances. Here I mean that the same system can use for many purposes.
This kind of research is extremely fascinating because it helps to understand things like the internal gravity effect in the thick quantum systems. The idea is to research the gravity of those atoms, and the fact is that we know that every single atom and quark has a gravity field. But there are problems with how to detect them.
