What is the difference between cryogenics and cryonics?
Cryogenics refers to the specialties within the engineering field that study extremely low temperatures, how to produce them, and how certain materials react to and behave in those low temperatures.
Cryonics is the process of cooling the human body and maintaining it in a monitored environment to extend life. That is, bringing the body back to a living state once, for example, a cure for cancer has been found. The process cools a legally dead person in liquid nitrogen so that physical decay stops and the organs and tissues are preserved until that person can be brought “back.”

Hibernation is one of the tools for solving social problems during long-term space flights. Hibernation is one of the best solutions for space journeys, which are taking months or a couple of years. But the hibernation is not suitable for interstellar journeys, because it is not stopping the elding process. Also, muscles would get weak if they are not stimulated by using electric shocks.
Stopping the elding requires that the DNA is stabilizing and that thing requires extremely high pressure or extremely low temperature. The oscillation of the DNA is the thing, that is causing the elding, and hibernation is just removing the willingness of the social contacts by putting the person to sleep. This thing has been faced in the scenarios, where the person would put to hibernation for the witness protection program.
In that very interesting scenario, the witness would put into hibernation and wake up in the future. But the fact is that this thing requires long term-hibernation, and in those scenarios, the person would spend a long term in life sleeping in the freezer.
The idea of putting a person in the cryonics conditions for traveling to the future is not new. In some scenarios, the person, who has some kind of illness will be frozen for waiting until the cure for the disease is ready. Then that person would melt and the illness is cured. And the fact is that in theory, the person can rest in extremely low-temperature conditions almost forever. But the problem is how to wake up that person?
Stopping the elding process requires cryonics. Sometimes is introduced an idea that a person will be frozen to the temperature, which is near zero kelvin. That thing will deny the oscillation of the DNA, and that thing means that the person would not elding. Melting the person who is put in cryonics requires about half of the year, but artificial intelligence can make that process.
The system must observe the melting process and if the cells are in danger of damage. And if that danger is noticed the system must slowing the melting, or take back and decrease temperature. The critical point is the moment, where the vitals are put back to function. If that thing is working fine, the cryonics offer slow time travel to the future.
