Why people are studying things, even if studies are bringing responsibility? Responsibility is giving power. The person who gives orders is responsible for the consequences of the orders, and the other person's role is to follow those orders.
In the same way, we can ask why people are growing their power and want to become rulers in their countries? The reason for that is that if we are looking for superiorities, we might think there is always bigger superiority. But the line of superiorities is not endless. There is always the final authority.
The top superiority cannot push the job to other people. There is a no bigger leader in society. The top or final leader's mission is to make the decision. And people like Vladimir Putin think that why they cannot become that final leader? The final leader is the ultimate authority. And an ultimate authority needs ultimate tools. The key element in the rule is in the information, what the government can get. This is the reason, why we have a communication network.
And the communication network is in a key role in the communication between the remote bases like embassies and the capital cities. But the communication networks are also in a key role to control the network of tools like robots and other things. The new type of computing tools and ability to remote control physical machines requires extremely high-level data security.
The new quantum-based data security requires very accurately made theories. Those theories and models of natural laws are giving tools for researchers. Those are working with that kind of system. And when the new systems are made, the competitors are making the response actors for those new systems.
That means that when some actor is making new and more effective systems, the competitor will answer for the challenge by creating even more effective systems. This is the version of Moore's law in the world of research and development. There is always a need to make more and more powerful systems.
Do we need any new theories at all? The Newtonian dynamics and laws are enough for regular people, so we can ask do we need things like Theories of Relativity or other stuff like that at all? Regular people don't need even laws of Thermodynamics in their everyday life, so why we need to make any new laws or theories.
Or why we need to develop anything new? We can use tested and well-looking tools years after years, and that's why we don't need any advantages at all. Advantages are only a waste of time, and the bosses need to waste one of their weekends learning new things, so why we cannot use the well-tested practical things? Why we are developing artificial intelligence, even if we know that it would take jobs from human workers?
The reason for that is that systems like robots that are driven by artificial intelligence are more effective than human workers. We know that killer robots are inhuman, but at the same time we might ask is the war itself against humanity?
The war is the thing that costs lives, and the object of the military leaders is to minimize the losses of their side and maximize the losses of the opponents. The reason why those things are under development is that those systems are developed anyway. If Western nations are not developing those things, some other nations will do that thing.
The reason why some people are against development is that there is always some kind of mistakes. Errors are things that are making us humans. Some of the biggest inventions in human history have been the biggest mistakes. But those "worst mistakes ever" were practical and effective things at the time when their inventors made them.
One of the mistakes is nuclear weapons. Or maybe the biggest mistake ever is machine gun. That was an excellent tool for colonialists because by using the machine gun, one soldier can "handle" thousands of opponents. The effect of the machine gun was seen in Europe at least in the trenches of World War I. But in the view of the military machine gun was no mistake. It was a practical and effective tool, and that system is still in common use.
