A methane leak in plumes of Enceladus might be a mark of life.

But at the first a couple of words about life on Mars.

Cosmic disasters could destroy the active life on Mars. In those disasters, Mars lost most of its mass. 

There is a methane leak in Enceladus, and that means there could be some kind of lifeforms. There has been seen methane on Mars, and the origin of that methane is introduced ancient life.  In that theory, the methane has been stored in the stoned bacteria and released sometimes to the Martian atmosphere. Because the seismic activity and cosmic rays like UV radiation along with chancing temperature break the core of those bacteria. The planet Mars is a very dry place, and UV radiation would sterilize the surface of that planet. But the methane tells, that there is the possibility to find living lifeforms on the red planet.

But Mars is a dry world. But methane and stoned bacteria in the meteorites tell that there is a possibility. That there have been bacteria on Mars. Or there is the possibility that the red planet is not dead. 

So there is no water at all except maybe somewhere under the surface of the red planet might be the ice, which would be extremely cold and strong, but the life of that planet might vanish. The reason for that is the geological disaster, where the entire lithosphere of that planet flew into space. 

During that disaster, most of the surface of the red planet could be melted lava. And the dry conditions mean that the active life forms on planet Mars could be dead. Or they might use the water, which is stored in minerals. But that requires there is water in minerals on that planet. And that means there is the possibility of being active lifeforms. In some stones of that planet are the stoned forms, what are looking like cyanobacteria on Earth. 

And now to the methane in the plumes of Enceladus.

But Enceladus is not like Mars. There is lots of water under the ice of that moon. The entire moon is covered by the frozen ocean where is liquid water. And the ice is making the core for that small orbiter of Saturnus. The ice is keeping the liquid water on the moon. And in that ocean is possible to be organisms, which are getting their energy from the volcanic temperature. 

In the case of Enceladus, the volcanic temperature is coming from the tidal forces of Saturnus, and those tidal forces are keeping Enceladus's ocean liquid. There is the possibility that in the ocean of that small moon is some kind of bacteria. But confirming that thing requires more research.

The futuristic visions about the use of Enceladus. When humans will someday in the future travel to that world. 

And finally, one of the futuristic things about Enceladus and other water moons. Somewhere in the distant future under the ice of Enceladus could be the manned space station. The water will protect the crew against cosmic radiation. But the use of that water requires that there are no organisms. 

In some visions in the oceans of the icy moons is sunk the space stations. When humans will travel to giant planets and colonize those worlds. If the space station is installed under the ice in the liquid ocean of those moons, the energy supply would be handled by underwater wind generators. The ocean would protect the crew against cosmic radiation. 

Also, that station would get water supply from that ocean. The problem with a nuclear reactor in the case of the stable space station in the ocean of the icy moon is if there is an accident, that pollutes the entire ocean, which means there should be some other power supply for those modules.
