Single-cell organisms can travel between two places without brains. But how they make that thing? Taking the direction by using the magnetic field is easy if the bacteria are using a magnetic field. In that case, the small iron styluses are pointing the direction, where the magnetic north pole is.
One version is that bacteria are searching the food, and while it travels it can follow the flow of the nutrient. In some cases is possible that ion pumps are driving the nutrient or the results of the metabolism to the ions pumps what are the opposite side of the ion pump, which is pulling the nutrient inside the cell. That thing turns the bacteria in the direction, where is the food for it.
In some other versions, the bacteria can transform its shape for traveling to the direction, where it smells the nutrient. When bacteria are taking nutrients through its cell membrane, through the ion pumps there is the possibility that ion pumps are just acting like magnets, and turning the protein fibers to the direction, where the nutrient is coming.
Or some protein fibers are turning shorter, which transform the form of the bacteria, and. Those protein fibers are similar, what are turning the muscle cells turning their form. And the ion pumps are activating that process, where the form of bacteria is chancing.
So that chemical nose is an interesting thing. The bacteria can transform into nanomachine, what is carrying antibiotics and cytostatics at a certain point of the body. In that process, the genomes of bacteria will terminate and the medicine is installed in it. And that system can detect cancer cells by using the chemical nose.
